With 25+ years of international experience in Strategy, M&A, Business Development, Marketing and ICT, Christian Bucheli is heading Adventique, a Swiss based advisory boutique focusing on developing winning strategies for the electronic payments industry, which was founded in 2001.
A key customer of Adventique is the Germany Payment Service Provider BS Payone, formerly known as B&S CardServices. Since October 2017 Chris is managing their strategy, several strategic projects plus all M&A activities and was heavily involved in the upcoming merger with Ingenico Payment Services Germany. Further payments companies as well as several private equity firms, international consultancies and investment banks rely on his know how. In addition he is advising startup companies as mentor of the F10 innovation incubator or advisory board member.
Prior to this, he essentially contributed during 10 years to the successful internationalization of SIX’s Cards Business. As Head of Strategic Ventures he was in charge for the organic and inorganic growth and technology acquisitions at SIX Payment Services. In this role, he actively managed several M&A projects which lead to the successful acquisition of Cetrel (LUX), Paylife (AT), VOEB (DE) and Aduno (CH), plus the sale of 3C payments (LUX). As member of the innovation committee he was involved in the launch of the mobile payment programs Paymit, which lead into the Swiss standard Twint.
Before joining SIX Group in 2007 he worked for Aduno SA and Cornèr Bank, two Swiss Payment Card Companies as Head of Products and Services. Prior to this Christian built up a solid track record of professional international experience in the manufacturing and computer industry plus and Business Consulting where his language skills in German, French, Italian, Spanish and English plus his large personal network helped him to succeed.
Christian holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, a Master’s Degree in International Business Consulting. He successfully concluded the Advanced Strategic Management as well as the Negotiation for Value Creation Program at the renowned IMD Business School in Lausanne 2012 and 2015. At the same institute, he serves as a member of the advisory board of the faculty Center for Global Business Transformation and as guest professor.
Christian was born 30.12.1967. He lives in Lugano with his spouse and little son. Like many Swiss he is addicted to mountain sports all year round and loves to board on snow and water.
