[WEBINAR] Is Europe on the way to Open or Close Banking?

API Evaluation Group perspective on the changing world of TPPs

This webinar is a part of series of supportive initiatives to the MPE 2019 conference & exhibition, outlining the importance and complexity of B2C payments for merchant payments acceptance professionals.

Presented and supported by PPRO Group Payment Professionals and hosted by Empiria Group, the organiser of “Merchant Payments Ecosystem” conference and exhibition.

By joining this webinar you will learn how the world of third party providers is changing and what the API Evaluation Group is doing to lead to the world’s best banking APIs.

The public is expecting bigger and better third party provider (TPP) services in the future, but there is a high risk that they will actually get less under PSD2. Whether APIs will be better or worse than the previous practice of screen scraping is yet to be seen. The API Evaluation Group (API EG) was created to define what is required of an API to “look good” in the eyes of the market participants. This webinar gives insight into account initiation services (AISP) and payments initiations services (PISP) providers, how today’s services look like and how they will change under PSD2.

Three members of the API Evaluation Group will give insight into the concerns they have and what needs to be done now to make sure that Europe gets APIs to open banking for TPPs, rather than narrowing it down. SOFORT, part of the Klarna group, will outline the viewpoint of a PIS provider, Eurobits will do the same for AIS side and PPRO will explain how this translates into the work of the API EG and how we hope the work of the group will lead to the world’s best banking APIs.
